ABOUT JEFF
Jeff
is a nationally recognized subject matter expert in the area of the
Empowerment Zone Employment Credit
(EZEC) and the Renewal Community Employment
Credit (RCEC), the
Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC) and the
Welfare to Work Tax Credit
(WTW). His company provides the processing and analysis work that is
necessary for his clients to accurately claim their WOTC, EZEC and RCEC
tax credits. For his work with Empowerment Zones and Renewal
Communities, he was named as a ‘Registered Partner’ of the US Department
of Housing and Urban Development.
Jeff has appeared as a contributing
columnist to Cheklist magazine, PEO Insider magazine,
The Administrator’s Advantage magazine, and various trade
publications. Jeff has lectured to various CPA organizations, civic
groups and business seminars. His most recent keynote addresses were for
the Michigan Association of CPA’s, speaking on “EZ, RC, and WOTC- A
Missed Opportunity” (November, 2003) and the Detroit Empowerment
Zone, speaking on “Tax Incentives for Businesses” (June, 2003).
Jeff regularly attends National and
Regional WOTC conventions where he stays current on all key issues
relating to WOTC. His time spent with WOTC coordinators from around the
country, representatives of the IRS and Department of Labor allow him to
stay close with the key people that generate WOTC certifications. Jeff
also maintains frequent contact with Empowerment Zone and Renewal
Community Directors. All of this time dedicated to keeping in contact with
key people has allowed him to develop and successfully service clients
anywhere in the United States.
His primary interest is making these
‘complex’ tax incentives available to a broad range of small and medium
sized companies. His forte is discovering various sources of ‘found
money’ that exist for companies located in low-income communities and
companies that hire people that have had barriers to employment. The
people include food stamp and welfare recipients, recent ex-felons, and
residents of Federal Empowerment Zones or Renewal Communities.
Jeff’s
Workers’ Compensation Audit service is
designed to find overcharges and provide refunds to his clients. A
highly sophisticated technique is used to uncover errors that are made
when a company renews their insurance or changes carriers.
